Letters to the Editor
I wanted to pass on my thanks to the many members who sent messages of support following recent events.
To receive so many expressions of kindness and goodwill during difficult and testing circumstances is hugely uplifting and also ultimately life affirming. It demonstrates that the Club, like all good societies, plays an additional and important role as a community and place of belonging. After all some of us as more… errr…senior members have known each other for many years, decades even, perhaps only on the basis of a ten minute chat while getting changed. Even so people did not hesitate in contacting me and it was all very much appreciated.
Many thanks again.
PS On 9th May Steve Owen and I will be setting off on the Camino Portugese, an up to 240 mile ‘Pilgrims’ walk from Porto to Santiago de Compostella. I stress this is not a fundraising mission and won’t pretend this is anything other than a pleasant hike through the Spanish countryside, but I’d already established a webpage in Carol’s memory on Breast Cancer Care’s site…. http://inmemory.breastcancercare.org.uk/appeal/carol-sherry ….and if anyone wanted to throw in a couple of quid that would be great….
